Strategies

  • There are many strategies that can take place in helping these deaf-blind children feel as comfortable with their impairments as possible.  All it takes are a group of teachers who care and self confidence to help keep your head up!

  • Here are some websites that will explain these strategies a little more:

  1. Guide the children as much as you can.  That way, they will understand the rules more.

  2. Do not go from general to specific, stay specific.

  3. BOND with the child, or they will feel uncomfortable and overwhelmed by you.

  1. Help the student with communication and actually understanding it. That would be the first step to helping them learn.

  2. Do things with them that they might add in their daily routine.  That way it will be buried in their memory which will help them take the next step.
